Grant Status Report / Budget Update:

The Network currently has four grants. The Northwest Health Foundation Grant ($25,000) is due to expire on June 30, 2013.  To date, $11,641.65 has been expended on this grant. An event is scheduled for May 15. The Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Grant ($40,220) is due to expire on September 30, 2013. Almost $21,000 has been expended. Two events are scheduled, one at LoowittHigh School on April 29, and a Job Fair and Fashion Show on May 14. An amendment this month increased this grant by $3,000 for an event in late September. The contract issue for the DSHS Draw the Line grant ($2,000) has been resolved. The Network is partnering with the Kalama High School Prevention Club students on this grant. The activities must be completed by May 31, 2013 with the funding expiring on June 30, 2013. A CowlitzCounty grant ($2,608) was awarded to provide Life Skills/Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) training to persons who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. This grant expires on December 31, 2013, and there is potential for this grant to be extended into 2014. The Network is working to obtain the insurance required by the grant and expects to receive a quote next week.

In addition, the Network is working as a member of the Cowlitz Psychiatry Coalition to gain funding as part of the ACEs Public Private Initiative ($25,000/year for 3 years) to help build understanding about community approaches and strategies that prevent and reduce ACEs and their impacts on health, social, educational and economic well-being. The Coalition submitted a Letter of Interest in December and has since been invited to respond to a Request for Proposals, which is due on April 30.

The Itemized Voucher amounting to $2,751.96 was presented to the Network Board for review and approval. The $2,751.96 includes costs of Fiscal Agent Services, Rent, Phone and Email Hosting ($275); Day in Olympia Travel Costs ($76); Supplies ($80); and Coordinator’s Pay ($2,320).
